So many times
and so many things
the dreams I've had
your hand I've held

I've seen bad days
and done bad things
you've always been there
warmed my heart to hear you sing

We all walk the paths of life in doubt
stalked by fear, what it's all about
You've given me strength when I had nothing there
I've tried to help you bear weight nobody should bear

My shoulder is here
to give you rest
My arms are here
to hold you close to my chest

I love you for your thoughts
I live to see your smile
I will back you up until the end
For you alone I'd go that extra mile

I have your words etched in my mind
I know how your compassion has touched my heart
Distance makes me miss your smiling face
and look forward to a day when we're no more apart
